Highlight features of MusicPlusTV.com’s Version 3 website:

1.)  Social Networking:

MusicPlusTV.com’s Version 3 website is a radical departure from our old site. With the creation of social networking “channels”, users are given human-readable URLs : MusicPlusTV.com/username for their main profile, MusicPlusTV.com/username/blog for their blogs, and all content on the site can be linked to with MusicPlusTV.com/contentID (contentID being a numerical ID).

In addition, our viewers and users can take advantage of several innovative features :

A.)   File Uploading:

• Simultaneously upload multiple photo/video/audio, via M+’s Multiple File Uploader, built from the ground-up using Flash, for instant feedback on the progress of each and every file.
  
• Host TONS of content: 100 files per type (audio, video, and photos). Videos can be up to 120MB each, with no time constraints.
  
• Effectively capable of uploading a user's max of 300 files all in one sitting.
  

B.)  Unlimited Bandwidth

• Unlimited Bandwidth on uploaded content linked or embedded on outside sites
• No more “user has exceeded their bandwidth” messages
• M+ will host photo, audio, and video content for your MySpace, Facebook, blogs, etc.

C.)  Message/Alerts:

• Users are alerted to new comments, replies to their comments, subscribed blogs, when content they've uploaded has finished processing, and of course when they receive a message from another user on the site.
  
• E-Mail Alerts can be customized by type, or turned off completely, according to user preference
• Sent messages are "self-aware" and will indicate their read/unread status in a user's "sent" box.
  

D.) Customization

• No blocking of competing content (like embedded Flash video).  A user's “About Me” area, all comment areas on the site, and one's blog can even be switched to “HTML mode” for just such a purpose.
  
• Comment areas, blogs, and a user's bio can also contain Inline CSS, and use most HTML tags
• In development: Robust customization system that will appeal to both the complete amateur and the professional web designer.

D.)  Comments:

• Threaded Comments: reply to specific comments and create conversations
• Number of comments per page will be dependent on threads, making for dynamic and intuitive interaction
• Comments can include HTML content, much like a user's blog and profile bio.
  

F.) Blogs:

• Use either a rich-text editor that works like popular office applications, or switch into HTML mode on the fly for the ultimate in control.
• Users can subscribe and unsubscribe from blogs at any time, and will be alerted when a new blog is posted.

2.) Searchable, Categorized Content:

The “Browse Content” tab will take you to one central place hosting ALL content, including M+ content and user uploaded content.  All content is searchable by keyword, supplemented by a rich menu of filters.  We encourage several layers of descriptive tags/categorization for each item uploaded. At the top of every page, there is also a one-click search engine for finding exactly what you want.

3.) Exclusive MusicPlusTV.com Video Content

A by product of over 3 years of content production, MusicPlusTV.com houses literally thousands of hours of exclusive shows, interviews, live performances, music videos and other video content.  All of MusicPlusTV.com’s hosted video content is fully-embeddable, and can be easily integrated into any web-property via the branded MusicPlusTV video player. 

 

4.) 2X Resolution Television Stream:

All the new bells and whistles of MusicPlusTV.com’s V3 website are anchored by our bread and butter product – the live, 24/7 television stream.  Going strong since June of 2005, version 3 DOUBLES the resolution on our stream, making the full-size player that much easier on the eyes.

Scaled back in preparation for V3 launch, live production has resumed to our full lineup of programming - running 24/7.  MusicPlusTV.com will be rolling out several new programs within the next few weeks, including documentary-style, narrative-based, pre-recorded, sports-based, and lifestyle-based television shows.  Furthermore, a second stream is being developed to showcase the best in independent films.

The biggest stage on our online platform, the stream will expose the best content of our artists and users.  After all, exposing up-and-coming artists to new audiences is why MusicPlusTV.com started in the first place.

About the "beta" status :

While we at MusicPlusTV.com felt confident in the site at launch (and we still do), and consider it ready for the world to use, there's still a number of features that we want to implement and explore. Also, because the site is a complete rewrite of the system unlike any previous version, inevitably some bugs will pop up from time to time. Since we're actively developing the site day after day, we'd like to be considered in "public beta" mode until we feel that we've implemented most (if not all) of what we were hoping to accomplish as a "version 1.0" site.
